Scotter has seen dramatic growth in the last decade and it became apparent the residents were not aware of all the organisations and societies which operate in their local community. This site is trying to change that and new and old residents alike may find something of worth on this website.
Each organisation within the parish has been offered their own page and it is hoped more people will become involved in some of the wide range of things available in the village. If you see something of interest please use the contact details provided on their page to get in touch. You will meet people with similar interests and most probably make new friends.
Since this site has only just been launched it will take time to get everyone onboard. During the next few weeks it is anticipated that more and more societies will submit details from which their page can be constructed. As we move forward they have been asked to provide information on forthcoming events and meetings. So KEEP COMING BACK to this site as it will be continually upgraded to enable residents to see what is going on.
A major feature of the site is the Calendar of events which shows by date the activities taking place. If you have an event being held within the Parish, which includes Susworth and Scotterthorpe, perhaps you can provide details which can be included here. The administrator will endeavour to keep everything as up to date as possible with the information everyone provides.
The parish is made up of the rural villages of Scotter, Scotterthorpe and Susworth and is situated on the North-Western boundary of Lincolnshire between the towns of Scunthorpe and Gainsborough. The population was recorded as 2591 in the 2001 census but it has grown considerably since then.
We have several shops, a village hall, a community centre, an 12th Century church, a methodist chapel and a Primary School. The school is for 4 to 11 year olds and teaches around 280 children.
Please note these pages should be used as a guide. For the latest information concerning any of the orgranisations they can be contacted using the telephone numbers/email addresses shown on their page.
