Scotter Village

Whats Happening and Where

Scotter Forward

This is the new name for the next Parish Plan.

We have  lloksent out questionnaires to all the village clubs and organistations.  They were asked how we can help them in the future and what their needs might be.

An exhibition was held in September at the Village Hall to get the views of local residents.

WE HAVE BEEN COLLATING YOUR REQUESTS AND WISHES TO PRODUCE A QUESTIONNAIRE.

This will be delivered to EVERY household in Scotter, Scotterthorpe and Susworth in January 2012.

Please fill in the questionnaire and hand them back in via boxes provided in all the Community Buildings around Scotter.

Members of the parish try to raise funds to improve the facilities of the village (eg establishing the Eau Valley Community Centre).  Regular meetings are held to discuss ways forward, particularly how to attract capital funding.

For some time the emphasis has been on projects at the Playing Fields.   A thermometer has been put on the front of the Village Hall which is updated regularly.  This doesn't mean that money is sat in a bank account because most/all of it will have already been spent to get things moving.

To date we've raised £165,000 towards the cost of various Scotter projects and keep on putting more bids together for ever reducing funding.

Another field has been purchased, next to the Playing Fields, which will be used to give Scotter Junior Football Club 2 more playing areas to replace the pitch they gave up for the new tennis courts. A bid has been made to the Football Foundation.  There are also plans for a new pavillion for Scotter United at North Moor Park later in the year.

A BID FOR £48,750 to WREN HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL !!

This allows the planned multi use Games Area (MUGA) to begin construction on the site of the old tennis courts.
